Planning – Trends

1 min read

The Trends view provides a trend analysis on key metrics across the history of plans for a given plan cycle.

The Trends view consists of six main parts:

  • Plan cycle selector: A set of buttons at the top of the view that are used to change the focus of the trend analysis from one cycle to another.
  • Plan scores bar trend chart: This shows the plan score across time with separate values for MIT, Other tasks and habits.
  • Sentiment trend chart: This shows a trend on the ‘start of plan’ and ‘end of plan’ sentiments input by the user.
  • Story points completed trend chart This shows a history trend of the story points completed compared to the plan target.
  • Task outcomes trend chart: This shows a summary of the task story points by task outcome
  • Goal progress trend chart: This shows a trend of story points completed by goal.

The Trends view should be used to:

  • View the Weekly scores to assess the general accuracy of the planning process. This is particularly the case for MIT scores. If the MIT scores are consistently below the target percentage then a wider review is required about how many tasks can be scheduled for a given period.
  • View the Story points chart to see how close the completed total is to the planned total. If there is a significant difference then this would suggest that the user is over estimating what can be achieved in the planning period.
  • View the Task outcomes chart to see if there any patterns to be drawn from why tasks are not being completed.
  • View the Goal progress chart to ensure that regular and reliable progress is being made for the active goals.
