Updating tasks

A task that is displayed in a task view may be updated in one of two or three ways:

  • Clicking in the middle of the task entry card area will open the ‘Edit task’ form
  • Clicking on the task icon found on the left edge of the task entry card to open up a quick change pop up that allows the task state, task priority or task scheduled date to be updated.
  • Optionally, clicking on the attribute value displayed on the right side of the task entry card. Note: this will only work for certain attributes.

Opening the ‘Edit Task’ form #

Clicking anywhere in the middle of a task entry card will open the task edit form.

The form is modal and may be moved to any position on the screen

Quick update option #

An alternative quick update option exists for three attributes of task state, task priority and task scheduled date.

Clicking on the task icon found on the left side of the task entry card will open up the quick change pop up

This quick update option allows the user to change a single task attribute, either the

  • Task state
  • Task priority
  • Task scheduled date

For the task state, task priority and task relative date options, this is a one click change.

To change the task scheduled date to a specific date the user must:

  • First select the ‘Specific’ tab
  • Then select the date from the date calendar display
  • Then finally click on the ‘Save button.

Right side attribute update #

For certain task attributes, clicking on the attribute value on the right side of the task entry card will allow the user to update that attribute value.

Tapping over the attribute value will open up a pop up selection

Note: this option is only available for a restricted set of task attributes.
