To create a new plan the user should first select the required planning cycle, and then make the ‘Planning’ tab the active tab.

The ‘Planning’ tab allows the user to save the plan to start it.
The Planning tab displays five main elements:
- Prospects: The user is prompted to choose how they view the likelihood for plan success.
- Start of plan journal: The user may record their thoughts on the background for the plan, the challenges it faces and what other aspects they are concerned about.
- Story point burn down: This chart shows a line of open task story points over the life time of the plan.
- Plan content bar chart: This line chart summarizes the number of tasks and story points associated with the plan timeframe.
- Active goals summary: This summarizes the plan tasks and habits grouped by goal
In defining a plan, it is good practice to:
- Use the ‘Your thoughts’ journal text box to record the reasons and motivations for the priorities and contents of the plan. This will provide a good reference point for plan assessment when the plan is reviewed.
- Review the content scheduled dates to ensure that the burn down chart line shows a consistent and gradual decline from the plan start to the plan finish.
- Please take a look at the Active goals section to make sure that this includes tasks and habits that progress the goal towards completion.
When the user is happy that all these issues have been addressed, then they should click on the ‘Save’ button located at the bottom centre of the ‘Planning’ tab to save and start the plan.
