Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ‘Tasks’ page provides the user with a facility to save custom views. A custom view is a particular Task View with an optional associated task filter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A saved view can be setup as the default view for the Tasks page. This means that rather than always having the ‘Tasks’ page display the List view by default, the use of a custom saved view allows that saved view to be the default display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The saved views feature is accessible from a saved views toolbar <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are three toolbar buttons<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clear any current active saved view<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Clicking on this button will open a popup form where the user will be presented with a list of previously saved views that they can select and reopen.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Clicking on this button will open a ‘Save task view’ form, where the user can save the current view and filter combination as a new saved view<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Saving a view<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

By way of example, a user has set up a goal to arrange a family holiday in Greece. Using the goal filter, the task list shows six tasks associated with this goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The user would prefer to see this task list as a weekly time horizon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To save time, the user would like to save this view for reuse in subsequent sessions. To do this, the user clicks on the ‘Save view’ toolbar button<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The user gives the saved view a title and then clicks on the ‘Save’ button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the user removes the goal filter, and changes the Tasks page to show the List view – in essence the starting view for the Tasks page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reopening a saved view<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now the user can quickly restore the “Greece family holiday’ view by clicking on the ‘Open saved view’ toolbar button, and the saved view selection form is opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On selecting the ‘Greece family holiday’ entry the Tasks page is updated to show both the goal filter and the Horizons view<\/p>\n\n\n\n
